Following the results and recommendations of the City’s Parks Strategic Plan, Mayor Caroline Simmons launched an initiative to establish a 501C3 nonprofit to help solicit and secure private funding to support city-wide park initiatives.

A transition committee was created, which led to the formation of the Stamford Parks Community Partnership.

The mission of SPCP is to partner with the City of Stamford to enhance and protect its parks and open spaces. The focus of the organization is to:

  • Secure funding to beautify green spaces awaiting revitalization within the City of Stamford through an established Adopt-a-Spot Program

  • Secure funding to make park enhancements within the city’s small to mid-sized parks to bring unique identity and purpose to all city parks by establishing an Adopt-a-Park Program

  • Facilitate and manage a major gifts program in partnership with the City of Stamford administration, boards, and commissions
